THE STORY
FROM EUTERPE MICROS

In 2013, I started my training in furniture making at the Lycée Le Corbusier near Rouen, where the idea of building a replica of the Manson MB1 (instrument of the guitarist of Muse) germinated in me. After three years, I obtained my baccalaureate and decided to continue my studies in guitar making in Newark-on-Trent, England. In 2018, during my second year, I made my first pickups for my guitars and to finance my tools.

Back in Rouen in 2020, at the end of my studies, I decided to definitively move towards pickups and I officially founded Euterpe, with the objective of offering a varied range of pickups, combining simplicity of choice, installation and sound quality, entirely handmade. I will also add that I am the only French pickup manufacturer to have followed a luthier course specializing in the manufacture of guitars and basses.

Every year, I produce a few hundred pickups, making Euterpe Micros a Norman craft recognized for its quality. I also offer wiring and instrument repair services. Acquiring Euterpe pickups means investing in artisanal know-how.

Changing the pickups on your electric guitar is always a gamble: unlike a pedal, you have to disassemble, solder, and if you're disappointed, resell them at a significant loss. I have to say that I've experimented a lot with the pickups on my Strat. They come in all price ranges, and the description often lacks precision: it's more of a dream, marketing than objective and precise criteria. In short, after buying and assembling two different Vintage kits mass-produced by Fender, I still wasn't satisfied and I was starting to give up... And then...

I found the Euterpe Micros on the Internet and I liked being able to choose precisely, but without being lost in a range that was too complex. I was able to discuss all the options with Nathan who advised me without any waffle. I finally chose modern pickups with studs (not stepped) and with a moderate output level ( Set Bright ), and the result is there: My Mexican Squier sounds the way I want: present highs without ever being aggressive, dynamics, in short the sound that corresponds well to the idea I have of a Stratocaster: moderate power certainly, but positions 2 and 4 that sparkle and the possibility of going for false harmonics if necessary. Bet won!
